I have found this presentation a bit chaotic. The problem is that presenter spends quite a lot of time on demos that are not really helping understand the technology (you will spend a big portion of the presentation seeing screens of silly Order receive demo). I am really concerned that many people will not get the main message which should be that Dublin project is about providing Generic Hosting Process to .NET platform because Java community has such infrastructure. Presentation here seems to be focused a lot to hosting WF\WCF. But what .NET platform really needs is Generic Hosting Process shell into which developers can inject required business logic and wire that logic to Generic Hosting Process infrastructure through API. In another words, instead of having developers write NT Service infrastructure .NET platform should provide Generic Hosting Process like WAS with ability to extend infrastructure services. Dublin provides Persistence and Monitoring services but what if we need to add others? Additional services that come to my mind are Locking, Sand-Boxing, Heartbeat (extension of Monitoring), and Exception Handling. This is why this presentation is chaotic – it does not position Dublin to .NET platform. Instead presenter jumps quickly into useless demo and skips interesting Architecture aspects very quickly because he runs out of the time at the end.
